BCVerified is British Columbia’s only contractor directory where every listing is checked against government registries before going live. Here’s exactly how it works — and why it matters for homeowners and contractors.
For Homeowners
Find a contractor with confidence. Every listing on BCVerified has been checked against at least one BC government registry before being approved.
Step 1 — Search by trade and city
Use the search bar to find the type of contractor you need (electrician, plumber, general contractor, HVAC, painter, or renovation specialist) in your BC city.
Step 2 — Review verified profiles
Each contractor profile shows what verifications they have. We display three trust badges:
BC Housing Licensed — confirms a Licensed Residential Builder licence with BC Housing. Required by law for anyone building new homes in BC.
Technical Safety BC — confirms an active TSBC permit for electricians, plumbers, gas fitters, and HVAC technicians.
WorkSafeBC Registered — confirms the contractor carries active workers compensation coverage and is in good standing.
Step 3 — Contact the contractor directly
Use the contact details on each profile to reach out, get a quote, and hire with confidence.
For Contractors
BCVerified is built to send qualified leads from BC homeowners directly to your business. To get listed, every contractor must be verified.
Step 1 — Apply for a listing
Click “List Your Business” and submit your business details, trade, service area, and licence numbers.
Step 2 — We verify your credentials
We manually check every applicant against the relevant BC government registry. Verification takes 24–48 hours.
Step 3 — Your listing goes live
Once verified, your profile is live across BCVerified.ca and you start receiving enquiries from homeowners in your service area.
What Verification Means
A directory is only as trustworthy as its verification process. BCVerified does the homework so homeowners don’t have to.
Verification confirms:
The business is registered and active
The licence or permit is current and in good standing
The contractor carries WorkSafeBC coverage where applicable
Verification does NOT guarantee:
Quality of workmanship
Pricing or quotes
Response times
We display only what we can prove. Reviews and reputation come from real homeowners after a job is complete.
Why BCVerified Exists
Most contractor directories in Canada are American-owned and don’t check BC government registries. Homeowners in BC are left guessing whether someone is actually licensed.
BCVerified is BC-only and BC-verified — built to help BC homeowners find trustworthy local contractors and to help legitimate BC contractors win more work.
